Hawks Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Saturday night's Hawks-Rockets game at Philips Arena was highlighted more by who did not play than who did.
The Hawks played without starting small forward Marvin Williams, who sat out the game with a left shoulder strain.
The Rockets, meanwhile, went without All-Star Tracy McGrady (left knee) as well as Ron Artest (right ankle) and Shane Battier (left foot).
Hawks coach Mike Woodson inserted Mo Evans into the starting lineup in place of Williams, whose status is listed as day-to-day.
Williams said he is scheduled to get an MRI on his shoulder Monday and see how things progress from there.
"I hurt it in practice, the last full practice we had (before the New Year)," Williams said before the game.

Bibby hits winning 3 for Hawks over Rockets (AP)

Atlanta coach Mike Woodson needed a reversal of fortune after the Hawks' loss the night before on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer. Fortunately for Woodson, Mike Bibby had the right touch after taking Joe Johnson's pass beyond the arc. "Mike stepped up and made a great shot," Woodson said. "Joe made a good find, and he was able to knock it down." Bibby made a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds remaining, and Josh...

Carter's 3 at buzzer gives Nets OT win over Hawks (AP)

Vince Carter added another buzzer beater to his resume, and this one was from really long range. Carter ran down a tipped inbounds pass in the backcourt and hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer from about 10 feet behind the arc and the New Jersey Nets rallied from a 20-point halftime deficit to beat Atlanta 93-91 on Friday night, ending the Hawks' six-game winning streak.

Joe Johnson leads streaking Hawks past Pacers (AP)

Joe Johnson's stellar play is putting him in high company. The Atlanta guard scored 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, including the final five of the game, and the streaking Hawks beat the Indiana Pacers 110-104 on Tuesday night. "What can you say? Joe has been huge for us this season," Hawks coach Mike Woodson said.

Johnson's 25 points lift Hawks past Denver, 109-91 (AP)

Mike Woodson couldn't remember another homestand in his 26 years as an NBA player and coach as long as the eight-game stretch his Atlanta Hawks just completed. Thanks to their successful stay in Atlanta, the Hawks gave their coach reason for another history lesson. Joe Johnson scored 25 points and the Hawks beat the Denver Nuggets 109-91 on Monday night to close out the homestand with a...

Johnson's 41 points lead Hawks past Bulls, 129-117 (AP)

After holding 14 of their last 15 opponents under 100 points, the Atlanta Hawks expected a low-scoring game against Chicago. When that plan failed, the Hawks seemed to enjoy a rare opportunity to change their style. Joe Johnson scored a season-high 41 points, Josh Smith also set a season high with 24, and the Hawks withstood Ben Gordon's 3-point barrage to beat the Bulls 129-117 on Saturday night.

Johnson's triple-double leads Hawks over Thunder (AP)

If only Joe Johnson had hit a few more jump shots. Maybe a higher percentage from the field would've left him satisfied after his second career triple-double. Johnson had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for his first triple-double in nearly three full seasons, and Marvin Williams scored 21 points in the Atlanta Hawks' 99-88 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
