Coach Guy Carbonneau is hoping that some of his injured players are back in the lineup soon and goaltender Carey Price is at the top of his list.
Price has missed the last two games with a lower body injury and backup Jaroslav Halak has struggled, losing in New Jersey before salvaging a shootout win at home against Florida Sunday. He has allowed eight goals on 57 shots for a save percentage of .860.
Carbonneau said he hoped that Price would be well enough to serve as the backup for the Canadiens' next game against the Rangers Wednesday night in New York but if he's well enough to be the backup, the Canadiens may accelerate his return and push him to start.
