Rangers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Henrik Lundqvist's first-half numbers have mirrored those of the first-place Rangers. That is, a victory total padded by the most shootout wins in the NHL.
Still, the superstar goalie reached the 20-win plateau in the Blueshirts' 41st game Monday night, becoming just the fifth netminder to achieve that feat in each of his first four seasons in the NHL.
Lundqvist, who led the NHL with 10 shutouts in 2007-08, also registered his first blanking of the season in the 4-0 win over struggling Pittsburgh. That victory catapulted the Rangers back atop the Atlantic Division entering Wednesday's game against Montreal.
"It is about time. I haven't even been close to a shutout," said Lundqvist, who is on pace to exceed his single-season high of 37 wins.

NHL Capsules (AP)Henrik Lundqvist became the fifth NHL goalie to start a career with four 20-win seasons, and the New York Rangers turned their struggling power play into a plus in a 4-0 victory over the slumping Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night. Lundqvist shuts out Penguins for 20th win (AP)

The number on Henrik Lundqvist's stat line that jumped out to the New York Rangers goalie wasn't the 19 in the win column but the zero under shutouts. Never did the numbers 20 and 1 go as well together as they did Monday night. Lundqvist bounced back from a slump and a bout with a stomach bug, sending the Rangers to a 4-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins that stopped a slide and lifted New York...

Ovechkin leads Capitals past Rangers 2-1 (AP)

It's pretty easy to make the case that Alex Ovechkin is one of the NHL's best players, no matter what the All-Star voting says. And now his Washington Capitals are the best they've ever been through 40 games. On the day he was left out of the Eastern Conference starting lineup for hockey's midseason showcase, Ovechkin scored a short-handed goal with a half-minute left in the second period to break...

Rangers score four in third, beat Isles 5-4 (AP)

Petr Prucha provides quite a punch when he gets into the New York Rangers lineup. His only problem has been getting regular work. Prucha got the Rangers even Monday night when he scored one of New York's four third-period goals that carried them to a 5-4 victory over the New York Islanders. The speedy Czech forward has only two goals this season, but both were scored after lengthy benchings.
