The crowd booed Kessel during introductions and nearly every time he touched the puck.
Miikka Kiprusoff low-keyed his kick save. The rest of his teammates were a little more jubilant. Daymond Langkow scored early in the third period, and the Calgary Flames held on to beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in a matchup of division leaders on Saturday night. Olli Jokinen also scored for the Flames, who have earned at least one point in 13 of 15 road games this season.
The New Jersey Devils honored their 1995 team that swept Detroit to claim the franchise's first Stanley Cup championship. Then they went out and beat the Red Wings again. After blowing a two-goal lead Saturday night, the Devils recovered to win 4-3 in a shootout on Patrik Elias' decisive goal.
